About Mahjong Duels

When the last pair clicks off the board, the entire screen empties in a single frame — no tiles, no clutter, just a clean victory window. That visual release is the reward for spotting every bamboo-dragon-suit relationship faster than your opponent. Each of the 144 tiles (136 exact matches plus four Flowers and four Seasons that pair visually within their own group) vanishes as soon as you tap a free pair. The board doesn't fade; it snaps into silence.

Mahjong gets a social twist! Match mystical tiles like bamboo, dragons, and digits faster than your friends in this multiplayer arena. Each set has 144 tiles—136 matching pairs plus Flowers and Seasons that pair within their own groups. Outsmart opponents by spotting visual relationships and clearing tiles first. It’s a satisfying puzzle of speed and strategy that’s pure fun.

How to Play Mahjong Duels

  1. Select a tileset — each set has 144 tiles: 136 matching pairs (bamboo, dots, characters, dragons, winds) plus 4 Flower and 4 Season tiles.
  2. Locate a tile that is exposed — no tile stacked on top of it and it is open on at least one side (left or right).
  3. Tap a matching tile that is also exposed: exact pair for suited tiles, or any Flower with any Flower, any Season with any Season.
  4. Both tiles disappear from the board immediately. Repeat until all 144 tiles are cleared.

Game Features

  • 144-tile board with 136 exact-match pairs plus 4 Flower and 4 Season tiles that pair by group relationship.
  • Flower and Season tiles do not require exact duplication — any Flower matches any other Flower, any Season matches any other Season.
  • Multiplayer arena mode: compete against friends in real-time to clear your board first.
  • Tiles are exposed when no tile covers them and they are open on at least one side (left or right).
  • Each tileset maintains the same groups and relationships even though the actual tile art varies.

Tips & Strategies

  • Clear Flower and Season tiles early — they are visually distinct and easy to pair, freeing up space around other tiles.
  • Focus on tiles that block two or more others: removing them opens multiple new matching opportunities at once.
  • Scan the board for the same tile positioned near both a left and right open edge — they pair fastest.
  • Match pairs on opposite sides of the board first to thin out the layout and reduce visual clutter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I match any Flower tile with any other Flower tile even if they look different?

Yes. Flowers have a visual relationship among themselves but are not exact matches. Any Flower pairs with any other Flower. The same rule applies to Season tiles.

What happens if I tap a tile that is not exposed?

The game will not let you select a tile that has another tile stacked over it or that is blocked on both sides. Only free tiles can be selected.

Are Winds, Dragons, Bamboo, Dots, and Characters treated the same way as Flowers for matching?

No. Each of those groups requires exact matches — two identical tiles. Only Flowers and Seasons have group-based matching.
